Every time you run ASCII Art Generator, you will enter into the
default frame of ‘Convert Image’, the panel for converting
a digital picture into its text version. ASCII Art Generator supports
gif, jpeg, bmp image files, and saves the exported file into four
popular formats, namely html, ASCII, rtf and image. You can complete
the conversion quickly and easily within just three clicks: click
the ‘browse’ button to locate the picture you wish
to convert, and select the output format you like, and then ‘Start
Convert’.
Convert Options
There are a lot of popular and thoughtful convert options available
in ASCII Art Generator, which you cannot skip for optimal and
individual converting results.
These options are not presented for ASCII output format due to
the individual attributes of this file itself.
Fonts
ASCII Art Generator can recognize all the mono-spaced fonts installed
in your PC and launch them in itself automatically. You can choose
the font type and size you wish to apply in your awesome text
image, and besides, italic and bold effects are also available.
Text Modes
ASCII Art Generator can create text images in 6 different Text
Modes, which are as follows:
Custom – ASCII Art Generator uses any character(s), or even
a meaningful message you specified, like ‘I Love You’
to comprise the image you wish to be converted. From a distance
it looks like a unique, cool artwork, and up close you’ll
find a colorful text readable as ‘Kiss You’.
Random - ASCII Art Generator produces a html, rtf or image file
composed of random characters, including letters, both uppercase
and lowercase, digits, punctuations and so on.
A to Z - ASCII Art Generator creates text images using uppercase
letters from the alphabet 'A to Z'
a to z - ASCII Art Generator creates text images using lowercase
letters from the alphabet 'a to z'
Numeric –ASCII Art Generator exports numerical images made
of digits from ‘0-9’
0 and 1 –ASCII Art Generator produces random numerical images
from the two binary numbers '0 and 1' only.
Line height
For the exported files in html or image format, Line Height option
is available in ASCII Art Generator. It’s a great function
used to achieve better output effects by adjusting the space between
the text lines, and then the proportion, of the exported text
image.
Background Color
The background color of the converted picture can be changed in
the output text version with countless choices offered in ASCII
Art Generator.
Alignment
ASCII Art Generator also enables you to adjust the alignment of
html text images by choosing from the three sub-options: center,
left and right.
Html Header
One more cute option for output html file in ASCII Art Generator
– you can even put a meaningful header on the html page
of text image you create, for instance, a ‘Happy Birthday’
title for the exported html page of a candle-lit birthday cake.
Visual Editor
ASCII Art Generator features a very cool ‘Visual Editor’,
which offers you a visual, real-time converting process. After
you launch first ‘Start Convert’ in the ‘Image
Conversion’ frame, you enter into ‘Visual Editor’,
and it allows you a second or even more touches to the artwork
you created. You could resize the original image via the convenient-to-use
track bar – usually makes it smaller, for ASCII Art produces
a much bigger text than the original one owe to its low definition
– as well as reset all the convert options, such as font
type, font size, and line height.
When your finishing touches are perfectly done, click ‘Save
As’ button, or ‘Save as Desktop’ for Image output
format only, and then you could sit back and admire your own artwork
proudly!
Gray Scale
Gray scale indicates the shades of gray between black and white
that can be presented on a display device. When you want to convert
a digital picture into ASCII format, the Gray Scale option is
available in ASCII Art Generator. The capture of more gray levels
per color in image output allows shadow details to be heightened;
on the contrary, the less gray levels means a more clear-cut image
at the loss of details.
Convert Word
In the ‘Convert Word’ frame of ASCII Art Generator,
you can convert plain words into Big ASCII Art Words, for usage
in your forum post, email signature, or cute artwork to show off
on the web or in your documents.
Font and Effect
ASCII Art Generator allows setting the type and size of font used
in the generated Big Text, and Italic and Bold effects are also
available.
Besides, there are five different output effects in ASCII Art
Generator, including Striking, Common, Follow, Up-Down and Left-Right,
and you can select an alternate mode from the drop-down box to
suit your taste.
Char Config
You can specify the characters, words or message you’d like
to convert in the field of ‘Word(s)’. For example,
first input word ‘Up’, and then specify the Foreground
character as ‘1’ and Background character as ‘.’,
and click the ‘Start Convert’ button: ASCII Art Generator
makes a cool Big ASCII Art Word as below, which can be displayed
in your forum post.
Add to existing
If you tick the box before ‘Add to existing’, you
can add new word(s) Horizontally or Vertically to the previous
big word you create by repeating the above setting steps.
Copy, Save and Clear
If you feel satisfied about the Big ASCII Art Word you create,
now you can copy and paste it by right-click in the clipboard,
or save it as a text file. Otherwise, just click ‘Clear’
button to do it all over again. Of course, ‘Clear’
option is always available whenever you feel dissatisfied.
Free Draw
ASCII Art Generator features a cute and easy-to-use drawing toolkit
called ‘Free Draw’. It enables you to ‘draw’
your own ASCII Art, such as animals, people, electronics, vehicles,
food, and weapons composed of numbers, letters, punctuations or
a combination of them.
As a whole, you can them special line drawings; separately, each
part is just one character or several characters on the computer
keyboard. To be more specific and clearer, let’s take an
example and look at a cute ASCII Art dog created on the ‘Free
Draw’ canvas.
All you need to do is select the character you want to use, and
enter into drawing mode by clicking on the pencil icon, then drag
the ‘Pen’ while pressing the left-click button on
the canvas. You can remove the dissatisfied part using the Eraser,
or wipe out all by clicking the ‘Clear’ button.
When your ASCII Art is done, you can save it into a text file
on your computer, or switch to the tap sheet of ‘Text’
beside the ‘Canvas’, which is synchronous with the
‘Canvas’ sheet, and copy and paste it on the clipboard,
or your forum post, or anywhere else you’d like.
You'll be amazed at what you can draw with keyboard characters
in ASCII Art Generator.
